Helping you to be the best version of yourself.
An Introduction
Particularly as we head towards mid life, we instinctively know that life is short and that time is the one thing we can’t get back again but all too often that yearning to do something for ‘me’ – to get back to being ourselves (whatever that might look like), gets knocked off course by the day-to-day demands of our busy, everyday lives.
“A woman’s work is never done.”
Whether you’re a working Mum juggling the demands of running a home, raising children, looking after aged parents, holding down a full-on career; a woman thinking about returning to work after having children, a woman who is immersed in her work, who has reached a point of wanting some time back for ‘me’ – Life and style with Claire can help you to uncover the best version of yourself.
Where it all began
After a corporate career in London and Hong Kong during the 1990’s, I became interested in health and wellbeing, due to my own personal health challenges, whilst studying for a Graduate Diploma in Counselling in Sydney in 2002.
Fashion and style had always been second nature for me and soon after relocating to Hong Kong in 2007, I was invited to be part of the launch of a pre-loved clothing company. To truly understand how to create individual style I studied Image Consulting with the Academy of Image Mastery.
Life, of course, takes its twists and turns, and although trained in what I perceived at the time to be a fun career and the ‘real me’ as such, I ironically began to attract clients who had lost their way – not only in their exterior fashion sense, but deeper inside at an emotional level. Many of these women were struggling to find their real purpose in life and I wanted to help them beyond their styling. This really was a light bulb moment and I became more focused on equipping myself with the tools needed to help make positive change happen for others. Nutrition and self care were naturally top of the list, as I always knew that how and what we eat, and how we feel about ourselves are essential to overall health and ultimately to finding our true purpose in life.
And so I trained with the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York to become a Health Coach. This far-reaching course offered a holistic approach to health and wellness, with emphasis on career, diet, relationships and spirituality and was also pivotal for me personally, as it helped me to understand the challenges of juggling a busy family life whilst building a business and still maintaining a sense of self.
An additional piece of the puzzle then fell into place. Having come to the realisation that we all have a relationship with food, be that good, bad or indifferent, that is created early in life. I felt that I needed to understand more about this and found the Institute for the Psychology of Eating in Colorado, where I subsequently qualified as a Mind, Body, Eating Coach. My real life studies and practices allowed me to see why and how we eat and how a poor relationship to food can lead to behavioural issues like overeating, digestive and mood issues, insomnia and of course severe weight loss and gain.
Most recently I have completed a psychodynamic colour profiling training and I now use this together with my own life experience and this myriad of training in all aspects of wellbeing to help clients peel away the layers and unlock their inner potential to allow them to be the very best version of themselves
“We know real contentment comes from within and my myriad training in all aspects of wellbeing enables me to help clients peel away the layers and unlock that inner potential to help them be the very best versions of themselves.”
